Paysquad works differently to
Layby
Paysquad uses its own unique checkout, so must be used separately to Layby plans.
You can still use it to make a shared purchase, but this will be immediate. To spread payments over time with a traditional Layby plan, please select 'Layby Now' in the shopping cart.

Group plans are better when one person doesn't get stuck covering everyone. Paysquad lets the group chip in upfront, right at the cart.

What happens when everyone chips in?
Once the full order total has been covered, all contributor payments are processed and the order is sent for processing and shipment.
If the required amount isn't reached within the allowed timeframe, the Paysquad is automatically cancelled and no payments are taken.
Can I use Paysquad with Layby?
No. Paysquad is a separate payment option and cannot be used together with Layby. When you choose Paysquad at checkout, your order is not placed on Layby. You will pay once and in full using Paysquad.
Do contributors need to make recurring payments too?
No. Each contributor chooses a one-off amount they would like to contribute. Paysquad does not use recurring payments, and contributors are only charged once the full order amount has been reached.
What happens if we don't reach the total or want to change the plan?
If the full order amount isn't reached, or you would like to change the contribution plan, you'll need to create a new Paysquad. Payments are only processed once the full order total has been reached, and orders are not sent for processing until then.
Do contributors need an account?
No. Contributors can chip in as guests. No app download is required.
What happens if we change our mind?
If your Paysquad hasn't yet reached the full order amount, you can cancel it at any time, as no payments have been processed.
Once the full amount has been reached, payments are processed immediately and the order is sent for processing. At that point, the order cannot be cancelled.
Is Paysquad safe & secure?
Yes. Paysquad uses secure payment infrastructure to process payments. Contributors make their payment through a secure Paysquad link, and payment details are handled securely by Paysquad.

For questions about an active Paysquad, including contributions or payment issues, please contact Paysquad directly, as they manage the payment process.
For questions about your order after a Paysquad has been completed and submitted to LayUp for processing, please contact the LayUp Customer Support team.

How long do we have to complete a Paysquad?
The squad leader chooses the deadline when setting up the Paysquad, up to a maximum of 5 days.
If the total is not covered by the deadline, the Paysquad closes and no payments are processed.
